I had dinner at La Caye last Friday, a restaurant in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, that serves authentic Haitian dishes, from Fritay (deep fried goodies like pork chunks) to Lambi (conch). I was thoroughly impressed by the décor and even more so by the cuisine. Although, the dish I chose, the pan seared pork chops, wasn’t my favorite because I found the sauce little too sweet. However, I did sample a few other dishes and they were delicious. This is a great place to bring friends who want to learn about the Haitian culture.
Oh, by the way while sitting at the table I found out that one of the stories I wrote about Suffolk County veterans with PTSD was published, check it out!
