With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I began to think about picturesque settings for an unabashedly romantic proposal. I ran through my personal list of romantic little corners of the city, the Top of the Empire State Building, the Ice Skating Rink at Rockefeller Center, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and so forth. But, Central Park is by far my favorite locale.
It’s such an inspirational oasis, full of enchanting little hidden sites that look like they were torn out of a romance novel. So for those of you who plan to pop the big question, I urge you to go on a little scavenger hunt of your city. I guarantee you’ll make some pleasantly unexpected discoveries. Also, the romantic spots below are not only suitable for a proposal but an intimate wedding.
