Update

Hello all, I’m still getting over the flu. So please forgive me if I don’t make any sense as I go along. I ache all over at the moment and fear that my
ribs are on the brink of caving in on themselves because of my aggressive coughing spells.

On the upside, being tended to has been really nice. I have yet to make a meal for myself this week. But I’ve gotten a bit restless just lying
around the house in a hazy fog of drowsiness. The drowsiness, I can attest to the hodgepodge of cold/flu medicine currently sitting on my nighttime table. I’ve also been forced to down my grandmother’s multiple herbal remedies (yuck), but because she’s so sweet, I tried to disguise my distaste as best as I could. I’ve been taking so much medicine to purge my body of this annoying
assault but so far they’ve all proven to be ineffective.

Sadly, my mother has caught the bug as well but unlike
me, she’s no weakling. While I’ve been bed ridden, she’s been braving the world
on her two wobbly feet. No siree! her unsteady balance hasn’t kept her from giving
those boisterous antibodies the one-two-punch.

On the other hand, Alex has been experiencing some mild coughing
over the past few days. He had to be picked up from school this morning because
he was complaining of a headache and sore throat. The poor thing has been
asleep since he came home. I’ve been doing my best to stay away from him but it looks
like he’s on the verge of getting really sick. Hopefully, he’ll only get a mild
cold instead of the full blown flu.
