I have so many things to be thankful for this year, although that realization has come to me after some much needed reflection. Why is it so easy to focus on all the things you don’t have instead of all the gifts you have already been given? Gifts like health, shelter, and family and friends which most of us believe are the foundations of an ideal life. I suppose it’s human nature.
For this Thanksgiving, I choose to be thankful for the here-and-now, especially the steadying love I feel all around me everyday. Year-after-year, my thankful list has revolved around my future endeavors, which, duh, completely negates the whole point for the”I’m thankful for” tradition.
Turkey coma, here I come. Happy Thanksgiving, my darlings!
