You deleted all the photos of him from your cellphone, freed your space of any physical evidence that he was ever there and even moved on with someone else. Just when you thought you finally purged him from your system, he calls and says he still loves you and that he wants you back. Despite your reservations, you wonder, should you give him another chance?
Before you make a decision, here are some things to consider:
If your ex has broken his promises to you before, what makes this time different? In lieu of his words, let his actions do the talking.
Can you forgive his past transgressions? Be honest with yourself. If you decide to give him another chance, reminding him of all his past deeds is no way to rebuild a relationship.
Consider the real reason you want to rekindle things with your old flame. When I was about twenty-one years old, an ex-boyfriend of mine wanted to get back together but I soon realized that I was no longer the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed little girl he once knew. I grew up, I evolved past him.
Don’t let a need for companionship be a motivator. Loneliness should not influence your choice to re-enter into a relationship with someone.
If you’re currently in a relationship with someone else, weigh both options, carefully. Consider the pros and cons of both candidates then proceed from there.
