Although summer doesn’t officially arrive until June 20, as far as I’m concerned, as well as millions of Americans, Saturday is it. I’m dusting off my bikini and will be heading to the beach with my cousin and his buddies. One of his friend’s is an aspiring chef and will be bringing some delicious summer fare for a fun picnic. I hope he brings lambi!
I can’t wait, after a grueling semester in grad school, I just want to relax and loosen up a bit. Picnic at the beach sounds heavenly! Are you going anywhere this Memorial Day weekend?
The meaning of Memorial Day has gotten lost over the past few years, relegated to a three day weekend for short vacations and lounging at the beach. However, It’s importance has not been lost on me. So, here’s to the brave men and women who made it possible for us to enjoy those carefree days and to those who continue to fight for our freedom thousands of miles away. I salute you all!
