Dream Dinner Abroad: French Riviera

January 24, 2015 by Stapha Charleme Leave a Comment

I’ve always had a penchant for trying new cuisine. I went to Belize a few years ago and my favorite part of the trip was speaking with the locals and dining on authentic Belizean fare like tamales and cochinita pibil. I’d really like to visit the French Riviera (Cote D’azur) for my next vacation. The glamorous beach resorts look like a dream and the food seem delectable.

My goal is to try dishes from several regions. Bouillabaisse is at the top of my list. I’d also like to sample ratatouille, porchetta, an assortment of cheeses (the stinkier the better) and lots of Rosé.

While I like to dine at 5-star restaurants during my travels, I have the most fun going where the locals like to eat. Little shops and hole-in-the-wall places are best at maintaining old culinary traditions and techniques. In my experience, the food always tastes better at those establishments.

Overcoming language barrier is a daunting task and it can prevent foreigners from fully enjoying their vacation abroad. Even a simple undertaking like making an online reservation can become stressful. Smartling, a translation software helps people automate and translate content so they can do more with less.
