Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Fragrance Review

I went to an event a few days ago and hugged a family friend. She had on the most intoxicating fragrance. The top notes were subtle, yet warm, spicy and sexy. I’ve been on the hunt for a new scent ever since that encounter. When I came across Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir, the description immediately captured my attention: The sensuality of a daring red dress… …spicy woods…dark and enigmatic. I just had to have it. Before I continue, here’s the complete description of the fragrance:

The sensuality of a daring red dress. Ruby-rich juices of pomegranate, raspberry and plum are spiked with pink pepper and laced with Casablanca lily and spicy woods. Dark and enigmatic.

The verdict:

I was disappointed after the first spritz. Quite honestly, it smelled like a field of cloves. I’ve never been a fan of the spice, the flavor nor the scent. However, after a few minutes, the fragrance began to mellow out and the odious clove aroma completely dissipated. I was intrigued.

A few minutes after that, I sniffed my wrist and I was flabbergasted. The scent was transformed. It was woody, a little spicy and totally seductive. It’s not exactly the sexy fragrance I was looking for but it’s definitely a contender for my ever-changing and ever-growing repertoire of scents. I look forward to trying some of Jo Malone’s other fragrances. I hear great things about Peony & Blush Suede and Wood Sage & Sea Salt.
