Sometimes I like to give my armpits a break from the harsh chemicals of commercial antiperspirants. So when I need a little TLC, I make a batch of my favorite, natural DIY deodorant.
During the summertime, I use it in conjunction with my antiperspirant (usually Dove) to stay smelling like a spring rose, longer 😂. However, it also works just by itself — truly.
Here are the ingredients to re-create the recipe. Be sure to let me know your thoughts in the comment section.
DIY Homemade Deodorant:
Ingredients
Pure Cornstarch Powder
Baking Soda
Melted Coconut Oil
Tea Tree Oil
Peppermint Oil
Instructions
Combine cornstarch powder, baking soda, melted coconut oil, tea tree and peppermint essential oils until the mixture reaches your desired consistency. Then, refrigerate until it solidifies. Apply to your armpits using your fingers — Voila!
Warning: Tea tree and peppermint essential oils are very potent and may irritate the skin if applied undiluted.
I tend to make this recipe in large batches so I use 10 drops of tea tree oil and about 5 drops of peppermint oil.
